H.P. and the Sorcerer's Stone

H.P. and the Sorcerer's Stone

As a good Slytherin, I couldn't refuse a unique proposal to illustrate the first edition of the Harry Potter saga. The request made by a private client for academic purposes was a challenge and, at the same time, a nostalgic way of remembering a good part of my childhood and adolescence.
Drafts

The project has seventeen illustrations where each of them describes the most important fact from the chapter of the book Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Individual meetings were held for each illustration to ensure they were as accurate as possible. Several drafts were made to decide the design of the characters, the composition of the scenes and the colorization in shades of gray.
Final illustrations

It was agreed that the illustrations would be more cartoonish due to the age of the people who would be presented with the drawings. All illustrations were done in traditional art with nankin ink, watercolor and fine line pens. After approval by the client, the illustrations were digitally revised to add lights and shadows.
Chapter 13: Nicolas Flamel
Chapter 15: The Forbidden Forest
Chapter 12: The Mirror of Erised
Mockups
Note: I do not agree with the author's recent statements and the affection I have for Harry Potter only extends to the work and the actors.
